Glass beads and additional pearls

  • Choose freely from the beads on the bead wall,  these are included in the base price. Take the tray with you and pick the beads you’d like to use in your design.

Start by pouring out a few beads at a time onto the tray to avoid spills. Be careful not to mix the colours on the tray.

When you’re finished using the beads, they should be returned to their place on the bead wall.

  • At the counter, you’ll find our selection of extra beads – freshwater pearls, gemstones, Limited Edition stones, and pendants in solid sterling silver.

You are welcome to try different beads and move back and forth as you like. In the end, we calculate the price of your jewellery, and you only pay for the beads that are part of your finished piece.

How to Make Your Jewellery

Take a crimp bead, the clasp, and the thread out of your jewellery kit.

Leave the jump ring and crimp beads in the bag.

Your jewellery kit contains two crimp beads.

Step 1:

Thread a crimp bead onto the thread, followed by the clasp.

Thread the thread back through the crimp bead again, forming a loop.

Step 2:

Hold the crimp bead and press it up towards the clasp. The clasp should still be able to move freely.

Step 3:

Use flat-nose pliers to firmly squeeze the crimp bead. Make sure the bead does not move while you are pressing.

Step 4:

Cut off the short piece of thread right up to the crimp bead. The crimp bead is now securely in place.

Finishing

Once all the beads are on the thread, the jewellery should be closed. Use the same technique as at the beginning.

Step 1:

Thread one crimp bead onto the wire, followed by your jump ring.

Step 2:

Thread the thread back through the crimp bead again, forming a loop.

Step 3:

Use flat-nose pliers to firmly squeeze the crimp bead. Make sure the bead does not move while you are pressing. Before crimping the final crimp bead, it’s a good idea to ensure the jewellery is the correct size. The piece cannot be altered once the crimp bead is secured and the thread is cut.

Step 4:

Cut off the short piece of wire as close to the crimp bead as possible.

Care Guide

Your jewellery from SMYKBAR is made from solid 925 sterling silver and 18k gold-plated sterling silver, high-quality materials that last a long time with proper care. Here are some important tips to preserve the shine and quality over time:

  • Remove your jewellery when showering, bathing, exercising, and washing your hands.

  • Avoid contact with perfume, hairspray, creams, and cleaning agents - these can cause discoloration and wear, especially on gold-plated silver.

  • Store your jewellery in a dry, dark place, preferably in the jewellery pouch or box you received from SMYKBAR.

  • Sterling silver: Polish regularly with a soft silver polishing cloth to remove oxidation and keep your jewellery shiny.

  • Gold-plated silver: Clean gently with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid silver polish and strong cleaning agents as these can wear off the plating.

  • Rotate your jewellery regularly to prevent excessive wear on your favourites. This is especially important for gold-plated silver, which naturally wears over time but lasts longer with gentle use.
